Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for blessing us with the privilege to serve you and our neighbors in difficult times and circumstances.
We know that, ". . . our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." NIV Ephesians 6:12.
Therefore, we claim the armor and weapons that you have provided, "which have divine power to demolish strongholds. . .arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." NIV 2 Corinthians 10:4-5.
We ask You to intervene and to help us destroy these footholds and strongholds of evil that are in the minds and behavior of humans in our community.
We, therefore, go against those higher powers of evil in the name of Jesus Christ. Please expose and bring to justice those elements of corruption, organized crime and evil in all sectors that is pervading our society. Our prayer is not for vengeance, but that they will repent and surrender their lives to You.
Please convict the conscience and heart of anyone in position of influence and power for their duplicity. May they realize, confess and repent of the harm they have caused by being two-faced.
Please stir the hearts of all believers in Jesus Christ. Awaken us from our apathy. Please forgive us for our duplicity and lack of courage.
Father, please protect and encourage every person who faithfully discharges his duties to You and our society each day.
We also ask for you to work in the lives of those who are enslaved by their various addictions.
Please help us to stop those who profit financially from the illegal drug traffic and related illegal activities in our community. May they, too, repent and surrender their lives to you.
For those believers in Jesus Christ who remain confused/undecided, may this be the time in which they humble themselves before You an become indoctrinated into God's army of holy warriors.
Father, please forgive us for being so slow to come to the realization that it is time for us to step up. We have been so selfish and self centered that we have not fully appreciated the price that others are paying everyday for our safety and prosperity.
Please use us now to accomplish Your will and purposes for our community.
