Rochester Hills Church of Christ
Dr. Mead is the highest rated instructor in the continuing education program at The Ohio State University, Fisher School of Business; an honor he has earned for each of the last four years. He has the unique ability to distill thousands of pages of complex information and weaving it into an understandable presentation mixed with his own unique blend of Celtic humor.
His academic qualifications are as varied and – it is fair to say – as eccentric as Patrick himself. He holds undergraduate degrees in Correctional Counseling and Linguistics, graduate degrees in Counseling Psychology, two doctoral degrees – the higher one in Psychoneuroimmunology – along with several postdoctoral diplomas. He is a member of Mensa and several professional associations and holds honors from three State Governors for his volunteer work among the poor and in behalf of education.
Patrick (he prefers to be called simply by his first name rather than “doctor” or “pastor”) serves as an instructor three to five times a year at OSU and somewhat less frequently at Purdue, Indiana State University, Ohio University, the University of Michigan, and Ohio Valley College. He is the senior minister for the 1200+ member Rochester Church of Christ in Rochester Hills, Michigan and teaches special topics at nearby Rochester College. He continues to research and write in several fields of study -- most on the graduate level for medical students or those pursuing a career in psychology.
Patrick was raised by missionary parents, both of whom are still active in their 70’s. He served as a missionary himself in Scotland is still active in supporting mission works in Romania, Indonesia and Scotland.
Patrick is married to Kami Taylor Mead, an interior designer in Rochester. They have two children – Kara Kaleen and Duncan Taylor MacKay, All are very active in mission work.
A speaker of Irish, Gaelic, and several minority languages of the Romani, his skill with language and story telling will make the lessons you are about to learn come alive and live with you for years to come.
